Windy Spring Days (April 7)

This week has been way too full of wind. I usually enjoy a little wind, letting the breeze through the apartment, getting some fresh air. But in the middle of the night last night, the wind smashed through our windows and woke us up. I don't appreciate. Haha.
We also had conference this week, though! And it was so awesome! We got to see 4 out of 5 sessions, and every minute of it was great. :) We learned a lot and were spiritually uplifted and nourished. after conference we also skipped rocks in the lake at a park. :) it was relaxing and very pretty!
hopefully everyone will be able to remember the importance of the Savior and all that He did for us! I know He lives and we all can live again. :) Go and read about Jesus and think about the incredible power He has and how much love He has for you!
Have a great spring and dont forget about the Creator of it all. :)

The Beginning of the End (March 31)

Well, here it is! Kind of. Haha. I just got my transfer call for my last transfer. Kinda of a big deal because that means that I am going home in a few weeks! A weird thought. But also, an encouraging thought. I am so excited to keep going and finish strong! This last transfer will be one to remember. :)
I am staying here in Debrecen and getting Elder Bunker as my new companion. Elder Ralph, who I have served around for the last 9 weeks, is going home. Kind of a weird thing to see him going home. But I am excited for him, and am grateful that i learned so much from him about how to finish a mission!
Life is rough. Shoot, life beats you up, leaves you on the ground about to bleed out sometimes. But! It is also a beautiful thing, and I am so grateful for it. And I know that it is beautiful because of the Savior, Christ did everything for us because He has an incredible love for us. I had an epiphany: God gave us His Son because He loves us. Not necessarily a new thought, but a groundbreaking one for sure. Go to BecauseHelives.mormon.org and enjoy the beauty of the Atonement and the Resurrection. Its a time of change, people. Lets all change and become better! :)

Birth, Death, and Everything in Between (March 23)

This week was a little of a stranger one. We started out on Monday going to a little place called Hortobágy, where we bought some traditional Hungarian-made whips and went out to eat and ended up spending some time whipping our new whips and getting really really sore! Then the next day, I ended up having a really bad cough--which was a very very bad sign because we just had 2 elders diagnosed with pneumonia--and a fever. So, needless to say, we stayed in for a while this week--ONCE AGAIN--trying to get healthy. After that, we went to a new neighborhood way outside the city and tracted and had a good time with the other elders who came with us. But the idea wasn't the best because I ended up getting a lot worse because of it, and ended up staying in most of the next day haha. Fortunately, though, I have elders who are willing to exercise the priesthood they hold, and got a blessing and feel 100x better already. I am so grateful for the priesthood and power of God on the earth today!
Other than sickness, though (which is on its way out) we have been doing great. Transfers are coming next week, so we'll see where the last part of this journey will take me. Hopefully it will be as good as it has been up until now!
Love you all a ton! Have a great week!

The Week of Healing (March 16)

This week was a lot of healing. Both mentally and physically. Elder Winkel, poor guy, was inside all week because he has, you guessed it, pneumonia! so that is fun to deal with. This was not the week to get sick, though, cause e had one of the Area Presidency come and visit and have a zone conference for us. So we had to go to that! So we woke up at 4:45 to catch the train. And we ran to make the villamos and the train. Well, that was not a good combo for our sick buddy.. He ended up making it to the train station and passing out for a few seconds because his blood pressure shot down so fast. umm, scary. so the train cops called the ambulance and the paramedics came and take a look at him and say hes fine, just needs some fluids and to eat something. they offered to take us to the hospital, but we declined since we needed to be in Budapest in a few hours. so we go back into the train station and wait for the next train to Budapest and get on! we made it back home safely that night at about 8 pm. so that was a full day. :) oh, and President Kearon was an incredible speaker! go and listen to his talk about scorpions!

so there was that. the rest of the week we took turns watching elder winkel at home, while the others went out and did missionary work. it was alright, just kinda slow of a week. then on SUnday, we went up to Miskolc for a district conference and we got to see a ton of old investigators and friends. :) No, Winkel didn't go! he stayed home this time with another elder.
Then today, on P-day, we went to Hortobágy, a city known for its whips and thats about it haha. so we bought some whips and had fun being REALLY loud with them. :)
And that was about our week. Basically, I learned that God loves His children. I mean, I already knew that. But it was nice to see a little reminder and remember that God really is there!
Have a great week! Love you all tons!
