This Is It! (June 2)

Well, this is it! The last week of my mission. It has been such a pleasure to be here and to be able to serve the Lord. I have experienced so many things here, and I am so grateful for my time out here. Thanks to all those that made it possible. I know the Lord loves us each and every one. I have felt the power of the Lord in my life more in the last two years than I could have ever hoped for  or that I deserved.

I know that God is real. I know that He has more power than we could even dream about, and I know how much He loves each and every one of His children. The Hungarians here have helped me to gain an appreciation for the simpler things in life and the smaller miracles that we see every day.

Have an amazing week. Isten áldjon meg míg újra nem találkozunk. :)

Summer Weather (May 18)

Another week, yet another milestone. I gave my farewell testimony at this zone training. Kinda crazy cause I have seen so many people give them. And I never thought of myself as actually going up there and saying goodbye! But it happened.

Our week is not so hot. Our one golden investigator hasnt been available for a week and a half now, and anyone else we had met with is gone now. It is sad and really hard, but this is the Lord'd work and we are in His hands.

Other than that, we are doing great! The weather is fantastic and everyone seems just a little happier. :)

Happy Mother's Day!! (May 11)

Yesterday was a great Mother's Day for me! :) I got to skype with my family, and even a few very special guests!
This week was a little slower, especially with everyone getting ready for finals or for the summer break, or just plain ol' summer, it seems like everyone has other things more important! But we will find the people who care enough to let us in and teach them. :) Working hard!
Go and watch this video. It is really awesome. http://www.mormonchannel.org/blog/post/his-grace-the-power-of-forgiveness or if that doesnt work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Lxz3GHP59Y
Love you all! Have a great week!

The Rain.. (May 4)

I have developed something of a love-hate relationship with the rain over the course of my mission. This week we were supposed to go on a bike ride with the branch, but it rained all day long, so we were not able to go, sadly. Other than that, all our activities and other programs worked out just fine, and had a really good time!

We also were able to go to Hortobágy again and spend some time learning how to whip and sound really cool. :)

Life is going well. It was Mother's Day in Hungary and all the primary did a little special musical number for the mothers, and it was adorable. Everyone enjoyed it, especially the moms. :)

Have a fantastic week everyone. Love you lots, make sure to always remember who you are and the God LOVES YOU!! So much.

There IS a God! (April 27)

This week was one of the better of my missions. :) We had a guy come to the branch house and talk to us about how he visited Salt Lake City a while back, and because the trip had such a huge influence on him, he really wants to join the church! He is really prepared, and wants to follow God and grow closer to Him! His name is Arthur, and he was born in Transylvania and sings. With a 5 octave range! Whoa, talk about impressive! He is also really funny and a really open and genuine guy! I think we have the definition of a golden. :)

Other than that, we had a lot of fun going out and doing missionary stuff. We are getting along almost all the time, and always helping out other people! Good ole missionary work. :) Gotta love it! Well have a great week and remember to say your prayers and read your scriptures! :) Love you!

The Beginning of The End... Again? (April 20)

So this week, I started my last 6-week planner that I will use on my mission. I keep finding these little things that remind me too much of the end of my mission.. So sad. :(

But! This week was also good with the amount of work we got done and all the people we are helping! We met with a less-active member this week who stopped coming to church several years ago. its really hard for a missionary to see someone who used to be so strong and such an important part of the branch to becoming someone who cares so little about going to church. He never denied that the church is true, though. When it comes down to it, your belief and how you act on those beliefs are some of the most important things in this life. Never forget how much the Savior loves you and show Him how grateful you are for Him and how much you love Him.

Have a great week! Love you a ton. :)

Losing Things and Getting Them Back (April 13)

This week was all about losing our stuff and getting it back--sometimes not in the most conventional ways. On Saturday, we dropped our keys onto our neighbor's balcony and wasn't able to contact them until Monday morning to get them back. So, sadly, we had to miss church this week.. Guess there's a first time for everything! haha. Then I lost the pictures on my camera's memory card and am still working on getting those back.. hopefully I can figure it out!
Other than that, we had a pretty good week! Lots of work, and not tons of results. But! We are pushing on and giving it our all! And the best part: we're all still happy! :) If you aren't happy, go watch conference! It will change you, I know it. :) conference.lds.org So worth it!
Make sure to say your prayers and tell God how thankful you are for everything you have! And dont forget to read scriptures and read about how much love God and His Son Jesus Christ have for you. :)
Have a great week! Love you all! And so does Jesus!

Windy Spring Days (April 7)

This week has been way too full of wind. I usually enjoy a little wind, letting the breeze through the apartment, getting some fresh air. But in the middle of the night last night, the wind smashed through our windows and woke us up. I don't appreciate. Haha.
We also had conference this week, though! And it was so awesome! We got to see 4 out of 5 sessions, and every minute of it was great. :) We learned a lot and were spiritually uplifted and nourished. after conference we also skipped rocks in the lake at a park. :) it was relaxing and very pretty!
hopefully everyone will be able to remember the importance of the Savior and all that He did for us! I know He lives and we all can live again. :) Go and read about Jesus and think about the incredible power He has and how much love He has for you!
Have a great spring and dont forget about the Creator of it all. :)

The Beginning of the End (March 31)

Well, here it is! Kind of. Haha. I just got my transfer call for my last transfer. Kinda of a big deal because that means that I am going home in a few weeks! A weird thought. But also, an encouraging thought. I am so excited to keep going and finish strong! This last transfer will be one to remember. :)
I am staying here in Debrecen and getting Elder Bunker as my new companion. Elder Ralph, who I have served around for the last 9 weeks, is going home. Kind of a weird thing to see him going home. But I am excited for him, and am grateful that i learned so much from him about how to finish a mission!
Life is rough. Shoot, life beats you up, leaves you on the ground about to bleed out sometimes. But! It is also a beautiful thing, and I am so grateful for it. And I know that it is beautiful because of the Savior, Christ did everything for us because He has an incredible love for us. I had an epiphany: God gave us His Son because He loves us. Not necessarily a new thought, but a groundbreaking one for sure. Go to BecauseHelives.mormon.org and enjoy the beauty of the Atonement and the Resurrection. Its a time of change, people. Lets all change and become better! :)

Birth, Death, and Everything in Between (March 23)

This week was a little of a stranger one. We started out on Monday going to a little place called Hortobágy, where we bought some traditional Hungarian-made whips and went out to eat and ended up spending some time whipping our new whips and getting really really sore! Then the next day, I ended up having a really bad cough--which was a very very bad sign because we just had 2 elders diagnosed with pneumonia--and a fever. So, needless to say, we stayed in for a while this week--ONCE AGAIN--trying to get healthy. After that, we went to a new neighborhood way outside the city and tracted and had a good time with the other elders who came with us. But the idea wasn't the best because I ended up getting a lot worse because of it, and ended up staying in most of the next day haha. Fortunately, though, I have elders who are willing to exercise the priesthood they hold, and got a blessing and feel 100x better already. I am so grateful for the priesthood and power of God on the earth today!
Other than sickness, though (which is on its way out) we have been doing great. Transfers are coming next week, so we'll see where the last part of this journey will take me. Hopefully it will be as good as it has been up until now!
Love you all a ton! Have a great week!
